Today there are many conflicting teachings.  God's Word urges all Christians not to be led astray. you are probably asking what false teachings are like?  Or how to distinguish it from the true teachings.  The only way is to investigate the Bible verses about that false teaches.
 
The Bible is an accurate and trustworthy book.  Everything in it can be very useful for teaching servants of God about many things in life.  Including having a right view with respect to the doctrines of the many doctrines that are emerging now.  This is important so that Christians are not misled.

1. 2 Peter 3:17

You, therefore, beloved ones, having this advance knowledge, be on your guard so that you may not be led astray with them by the error of the lawless people and fall from your own steadfastness..

This first bible verse urges Christians to always be on guard against teachings that can be misleading.  They are people who do not know the law.  The Apostle Peter wrote this letter so that all of us can always hold fast to biblical principles and laws not to the false teachings.

2. 1 Corinthians 10:20

No; but I say that what the nations sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers with the demons.”

Today there are many who are blinded by Satan the Devil who tries to lead the whole earth astray. There are many people who think that they have worshiped the true God. However, what actually happened was they were serving the devil and his hankman. Because what is normal in world view can be very different from the teachings of the Bible.

3. Mattew 7:17,18

Likewise, every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit. A good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, nor can a rotten tree produce fine fruit. Every tree not producing fine fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

In this world there are many problems that occur because of people's crimes.  Among them are disputes, theft, oppression, immorality, etc.  Many of these people do bad things even though they have a religion.
 
Know that religion does not lead to bad deeds.  So they cannot be said to be friends of God, unless they want to repent and stop doing bad things.  True religion does not support evil and bad things.

4. Exodus 20:4,5

You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth. You must not bow down to them nor be enticed to serve them, for I, GOD your God, am a God who requires exclusive devotion, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation of those who hate me,

In this verse God forbids His people from praying to idols.  From the beginning until now His commands have not changed.  God wants us to worship Him only.  If there are idols in their worship, can those people be said to be friends of God according to this verse?  Certainly not.  God wants people to talk to Him, not through any picture or object.

5. Revelation 15:4

Who will not really fear you, Jehovah, and glorify your name, for you alone are loyal? For all the nations will come and worship before you, because your righteous decrees have been revealed.

In the end there is only one true religion according to the statement in the book of Revelation 15 verse 4.  All teachings that are not based on the Bible will disappear with all the lies of Satan that he makes on the servants of God. 

6. James 4:4

Adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is making himself an enemy of God..

The world offers a lot of bad things like luxury, the desire to satisfy oneself and selfishness.  Whatever is in the world is actually not in accordance with the teachings of the Bible.  The book of James itself warns that if we are more inclined to show the spirit of our world we are enemy of God.

Because the friends of God, keep their eyes simple by holding fast to the principles of the scriptures.  They will not deviate from the wishes of the temporary world.  Like chasing riches, greed, and selfish.

7. 2 Corinthians 6:17,18

Therefore, get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing”; “and I will take you in. And I will become a father to you, and you will become sons and daughters to me,’ says Jehovah, the Almighty.

True Christians are urged to get out and separate yourselves.  This of course includes false teachings that what GOD dislikes.  To be able to please God, we must try our hardest, because it's not easy because these things are around us.

8. 2 Timothy 4:3,4

For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the wholesome teaching, but according to their own desires, they will surround themselves with teachers to have their ears tickled. They will turn away from listening to the truth and give attention to false stories.

Satan continues to try to break the loyalty and integrity of God's servants.  Not only in biblical times, there are now many apostates trying to damage the faith of those who are innocent and humble.  To avoid this, we need to examine carefully what we hear and read.  Maintaining a spiritual point of view is important rather than considering what is common in the world.

9. Luke 6:46

Why, then, do you call me ‘Lord! Lord!’ but do not do the things I say?

Badness can be rooted in someone.  If observed, some people might claim to respect God and worship Him.  But, in fact in his life did not reflect Christians.  True worshipers are truly practicing what they learn from the Bible in all aspects of their lives.

Be on the watch for the false prophets who come to you in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves..
